i am a teen boy that has a lump (think its bone) in my back in the mid area (i think) of my back, it pokes against the chair only when i don't sit up straight in a chair and its really uncomfy. i think i remember feeling that poking or rubbing sensation against chairs a couple of YEARS ago, but my mom told me it was normal or she didnt know what it was or sumthing (my mom was never big on going to the doctor) and i don't have any pain or anything. could i have a protruding spine or something??? please HELP.

Yes it is possible that you have some bone that is malformed. As long as it isn't causing any pain I wouldn't do anything about it. Correction could cause more problems than it cures. Until then be the life of the party with an extra joint sticking out your back.

bone spurs cause something similar to what you describe, seems to be caused by a fracture....?
