You can get the add-on tubes and make a cool running area for your gerbil. They're not very expensive, but if you don't have the right kind of cage, throw that idea out.
Toilet paper tubes are great, and healthy for their teeth as well. They don't eat it, they'll gnaw on it and usually use it for their bedding.

More than toys, your gerbil NEEDS another gerbil. Gerbils MUST live with other gerbils or they can die of loneliness. Buy another FEMALE gerbil and CAREFULLY introduce them. This is the only way your gerbil will be really happy.
Yes, also buy a house. Plus, gerbils NEED things to chew on. Wooden toys, toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes make great playthings. An edible house would be fun for a gerbil too -- just make sure if she pees on it that it doesn't get too soggy and nasty.
The bigger the cage, the better. The cages that have add-on tubes are great fun, but be careful of ANY plastic cage -- they can chew right out of it! Also, keeping those tubes clean is a project, so don't buy more than you are willing to clean.
Please do some research. Gerbils make excellent pets and I'm sure you want to do what is best for her, right?
Good luck and have fun!

Here is a great gerbil setup, it will give you some ideas for toys gerbils love.

And, yes definitely get her a wood nest box to sleep in.
Gerbils also love small cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls and unscented tissue or toilet paper. Give her a cardboard thing to chew up every day (or every few days if she doesn't gnaw it to bits in less than a day).
PS - most gerbils prefer living with another gerbil, if yours is young you could try getting her a young female friend about the same size and introducing them in a "split cage":

As long as you don't mind her sleeping in the wheel, that's fine. You could buy her a house, but you don't have to. Mine sometimes sleeps in her house, sometimes under the wood shavings...by the way, make sure you buy "aspen" wood shavings and not "pine". It's a little more expensive, but better for your gerbil.

the rolling ball that they get into and run around is always entertaining. especially when you have a cat that chases the ball that the gerbil is in. You know the cat cant get the gerbil but the attempt is hilarious.

Yes. You definately need a little house for her. They are denning animals as well as dogs. PetSmart has a huge selection of toys and hide-aways for small and furries. Check it out. Dont forget that their teeth never stop growing. So its very important to keep wood block chews and salt and mineral wheels for them to chew on. good luck

If it likes the wheel, keep it in the wheel. Or you can get one of those maze pipe things, but I have never seen a gerbel really enjoy that, just hamsters.

My children and I have several gerbils. at one time we had a total of nine. My advice to you is go to a pet store and buy him/her a edible house, and make sure they have lots to chew on. stay away from anything made of pine or ceder these will cause liver failure. Our favorite type of beding or them is aspen. you can also give them treats like raisins or nuts. Mine go wild over walnuts.
