They wanted to keep her on for three years and she only wanted a year long contract. It was a contract dispute. Why would she be fired? There are tons of posts here everyday about Rosie and the View. It has attracted more viewers and brought the View back into the spotlight. Guess what folks.. it's entertainment!

Fascinating that she "resigned" the day after news stories came out about her performance and abusive language at the awards show in New York in front of 17-year old children.

Couldn't find a contract that suited her? After that and a string of other missteps, you bet!!!

It was a firing!

Just think I said I would not buy Clorax products till she was gone,I've also not watched ABC since he regilious racist comments early in the year.So good bye good riddence may she crawl back underneath her rock. She'll be on Airhead America next anyway.

She was controversial and made a lot of people mad including the Asian population. The official position is that they could not agree on a contract, but from personal experience I know that if they had wanted her badly enough a contract would have been worked out.

They wouldn't fire someone who'd gotten their ratings higher than ever. She didn't agree to her contract renewal.

No dear it was for her abrasive voice and her bulldog face.
Then you may surmise that it was because she champions unpopular causes, that is the death trap of television.
a little spunk is attractive a lot of attitude is suicidal.
ask the other opinionated women who live off their royalties now.

More likely she quit because she was sick of baseless, hateful attacks by rightwingers.
