Wake up Congress too.....they could use a good slap in the face......
Bush wants stay the course, Congress wants out. Why are they both wrong? Here's why.
Congress=Cut and Run
Cutting and running means that we will show the world that
1) Congress does not believe our troops will win.
2) It will show the world (Who hates us already) that we are scared to finish what we started
3) Iraq will not be ready to stand on it's own
- It was doing poorly when we went in, but now what will it be if we leave now? Chaos. Chaos. Chaos.
4) Iraq will fall to it's own civil war
- Our military forces are the only thing keeping the civil war from going into a total disaster. If we leave and take that force out, what's going to happen with Iraq?
5) Our borders will not be as safe
- Iraq was home to multiple terrorists and terrorist networks. If we leave, they will most certainly come back and who will be their 1st target. You guessed it! America!
In the words of George Bush: "We want our troops home, but no one wants them to come home not being victorious."
However, Bush's ideas in Iraq as military might will not work. Let me illustrate with an analogy:
There are some crazy kids (Iraq) and they are absolutely little monsters. The parents (Iraq's government) is weak and cannot control them. You have a babysitter (America) who comes and hold the kids for the parents. If the babysitter stays, the kids will be fine. However, if the babysitter leaves without making structure, the kids go back to chaos. How then, can we leave and leave Iraq stable? Train the parents.
My proposal to solve the Iraq crisis:
1) Instead of using just military force, do what Ken Huck, Tenn-D, recommended: "Iraq needs more than military might. It needs economical, political and diplomatic solutions as well." Start working on structure, not just force.
2) Leave the military situation on it's own.
- My friend is a colonel in the military and he's been to Iraq 3 times. He says "We are kicking their ****ing a** good." He also says we can do that for at least another decade. America's troops are strong and can fight. One thing the media does not point out though, is that our troops are glad to go into Iraq. Nick, (The colonel) said that the regiments at his base, Schofield Barracks didn't want to go to Iraq at first. They went and now they jump at the opportunity to go. The military can and wants to stay it's way, so let's keep it that way.
3) Begin forming more on democracy in Iraq
- Yes, they do have a democracy, but it's exceptionally weak. They need help in politics. Do remember, America needed MUCH help from France and England when we became a democracy.
4) Create trade and opportunity in economics for Iraq.
- This will help their economic problems, and help the politics by raising revenue for the country.
5) Train Iraq's national army significantly.
- If Iraq can defend itself, we will not have to enter again into that country to help it.
If we create structure, we can leave Iraq. If we don't, we can either cut and run, leaving Iraq and us in the dust. That, or we can stay forever trying to keep balance. Let's create structure, so we can get out victorious.

he's not asleep or deaf he's the leaving part of a horse, and an arrogant one too. When the world protested him invading Iraq he didn't let it bother him, when America protested he looked the other way, when the Iraqis protested our presence he said "see they have the right to protest, aren't they lucky" and still did not hear the message. That's what happens when you wear your pelvis like a hat.

He is wide awake. The question should be what do you do with the South end of a North bound horse? Maybe just keep the pails and scoopers handy.

Are you trying to tell me that he has been sleeping all along and we don't have a plan to bring peace, democracy and freedom to the Iraqis and I have been a blind follower of my GUT? That's what you said, right?

Stay the course is clearly a winning strategy. No need to change.

You can wake him up, but he will need a team of skilled proctology surgeons to remove his head from his rectum.

I don't think he listens to anyone these days. It's the "my way or the highway" mentality.
