The mean is the average of all of the numbers which is found by adding all the numbers together then dividing that sum by the total numbers added. Your mean is 3.923.

Okay, first we have to remember this. The median of a set is the number in the middle when the number's are put in order from least to greatest, and the mean is the sum of the numbers divided by the number of numbers. So, it would be useful for us to put this number sequence in order.
0,0,1,1,2,3,3,4,5,5,6,9,12
We can see that the number in the middle is 3, so our median is 3.
Finding the mean of the numbers is a little more complicated. First we have to add all of the numbers together:
12+9=21+6=27+5=32+5=37+4=41+3=44+3=47+2=49+1=50+1=51
So we now see that the sum of the numbers is 51. Now, since the mean is the sum of the numbers divided by the number of numbers, the mean would be 51 divided by the number of numbers. There are 13 numbers, so we divide 51 by 13.
This you will find comes out to a very complicated decimal:
3.923076923076....
So you could either put that as the answer to your mean, or you could put it as 51/13.
So, your answers are:
Median: 3
Mean: 3.923076923076.... or 51/13 (whichever form you prefer).

So for 1,2,3,4 the mean is 1+2+3+4/4 = 2.5
The median is 2+3/2 = 2.5 since there is no middle value.
