A man can really only handle four if he is to do this properly in Islam. In Islamic law, every wife must be treated on a completey equal basis.

This means equal housing. Equal time spent together. Equal gifts. If a man gives one wife a gift, he must give gifts of equal value to each wife. There is even a formula in the Kuran to work it out depending on the number of children per wife so the children are not forgotten. No wife can be ignored or put above the other abat all.

So how much time does a man have after he has been working and doing other things that must be done?

This system is abused by the Saudi royals and the wealthy who have a rather high turnover of wives just to stay within the limit rather than admit they prefer the old harems.

The origins in the Muslim world was to save unwanted women or widows or those in need from destitution. It provided for those in need. I speak from experience when I say I married a man much younger than I. I was second wife and it was a wonderful situation. Although we had to part due to difficult border and international problems, like this darn terrorist crud, it was an experience I will always remember with pleasure.

I think it is very interesting that people slam the Muslim attitude to multiple wives but never a peep against it being part of the Jewish tradition. Interesting hmmm? What's up with that?

It just does not work out so well for a woman to have multiple husbands. This would make it difficult to identify the father of any ensuing children. It would also complicate succession of heirs, etc almost impossible to deal with.

Arabians usually keep their wives apart and there is often difficulty between the wives. The Muslims I am involved with, they all live in a home together, wives husband and children. This is the optimum best because it makes for ease of childcare and the wives who wish to work may do so knowing full well the children are not being raised by strangers.

And, to answer the unasked question, this is NOT an orgy situation. It is still the same sort of schedule to divide up personal time so that each wife has time for intimacy one on one with their husband. In Islam all same gender sex play is forbidden.

I think men should be able to have as many wives as he can handle but if you think 4 is enough than that is great also!
But what if the wives were naughty and they all ganged up on the poor husband?
That wouldn't be good...I guess he would have to make sure he had good, submissive wives...
I love you sweetheart!
XOXO

btw, can I share a room with you while the other wives take the one next door?

I think a limit on 4 sounds about right.

Brigham Young had about 30 or 40. It is so wrong. Paul said a bishop should be the husband of one wife, and the scripture "husbands love your wives." means one wife to each man. If it means man can have more than one wife here, then women can have many husbands also.
I think that is pretty darn awful!

Hmmmmm
Jewish tradition.... Well that isn't so. lol
Hey that would come in handy for me. I wouldn't have to cook. One wife to cook, one to clean and one to take care of kids. I could be the wife that was on the PC all the time and shopped.
ha ha

I don't believe a man should be allowed more than 1 wife. Also you are incorrect, Jewish traditions do not 'permit' multiple wives.
