No, it's not a cult, but a scientific fact established by thousands upon thousands of scientists.
Have you ever known scientists to agree so fully about ANYTHING before? This must be patently true.
People who bother to research the FACTS about "global warming" [which granted, is a bit of a misnomer, "human-induced climate change" would be better] realize that the results are extremes of temperature at BOTH ends of the spectrum. Look at the recent icy and snowy US winter for yet another example of human-induced climate change. And droughts all over the world.

basically, for conservatives to acknowledge a threat, they need a human face to demonize. Since they can't do that with global warming, and since the big business interests that they are lackeys to might lose profits by being responsible, they have chosen to try to portray global warming as a conspiracy.
in other words, kiss Florida and Bengladesh goodbye; they'll stymie any attempt to mitigate it.
