The most common explanation you will get for this question is that it is herpes. However, this may not necessarily be the case. You can get a zit on any area of skin. It just doesn't happen as often in some areas as oppose to other areas. Also a hair on the shaft of the penis could cause a zit as well. The skin of the penis is very sensitive and there are a multitude of perfumes, lotions, detergents that could irritate it. To be safe you should have that zit tested just to make sure it is not herpes. If it is you should start using Valtrex for suppression therapy.

The penis is like every other part of your body, it is possible to have a zit on your skin. Herpes is commonly overlooked by thinking its only a zit. Keep in mind Herpes sores are painful and cluttered together, they eventually rupture, drain, and heal like normal. But outbreaks like that can always mean other infections as well. If you are having outbreaks in an std, you could also be experiencing fever, fatigue, stomach cramps, drainage from the penis, or painful urination. Blood tests can be done to check for Herpes, cultures can be done for other STD's. Penile cultures aren't fun, but they are worth knowing for sure. Pay a visit to your doctor either way, better safe than sorry.

you can get zits on any part of your body that has clogged pores on your skin! Yes, you can have zits on your penis! although i have never had a zit on my penis, i have had them very close to it before. I am sure i had them from playing sports and wearing a jock strap. You're fine, dont need to go to a doctor like every other person on here seems to say whenever something happens to you.

Its totally normal I used to get a couple once in a great while
whenever I didnt bathe properly. Be careful though, this could cause a bacterial infection in your wife or girlfriend if you dont keep clean down there. Zits are the perfect warning.

I don't think that is normal to have zits on penis, I think you better get yourself booked in at the doctors and get it checked out. Sounds like they could be herpes.

Its possible. Especially during times of overexertion or a hot day. We sweat from ALL of our pores, penis included. Keep it clean and try using talc to prevent even further chafing.

Im surprised someone mentioned penile papules. Some people can be so ignorant at times. Its funny how people automatically think its an std when it could be nothing at all.
