When i emailed them to ask for help, they messed me up and gave me the wrong instructions on how to properly reinstall my D-Link. I have a wireless PCI adapter so the router is in the other room. So I need instructions on how to properly reinstall it in steps.

You need to install the software first, power down the PC, install the card, turn on PC and it will find the hardware and install the drivers.

You then need to setup wireless key if you use it on the router.

You know, there is this wonderful thing that is included with all pieces of hardware. It's called an instruction manual.

These neat little brochures explain everything you would need to know about how to install the device it came with.

:p

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that they gave you incorrect information on how to install the card. There is really only one way to do it, and it is the same for every single pci card.

Unplug the computer.

Plug the card into the PCI slot, screw in the retention screw.

Plug the computer back in, then turn it on.

Once the computer is on, insert the CD that came with the PCI card and click install.

You might need to attach the antenna to the back of the card.

The installer is preferably run before inserting the card. Run the setup from disk, when asked if you want to restart say no. Then shut down and install the card. Leave the disk in. When the machine starts it should see the card and load the drivers. To connect to the router use the card's wireless utility to search for your network, then set the encryption. Then click connect.

run your CD first - then install the card - it will tell you new hardware found - then it will install the drivers that you put in from the cd - if you put in the card first then you wil have to remove it and put it in a differant slot. hope that helps you
