im not gonna say much except, if it is people doing it, its people who are mathmatically BRILLIANT! the amount of mathematical knowledge required to make these amazingly precise figures in a field... again, IF it is people.. they should really considder something better and stop wasting this amazing gift they were given!

It must be aliens or something supernatural if it's too big and perfect for something done by humans. Just like the pyramids in Egypt, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Those are all bigger and more perfect than any crop circle, so humans couldn't have done those either, right?
As for the "mathematical brilliance" of the people who make them, I had a toy called a "Spirograph" back in the 60's, and at 5 years old could easily create thousands of highly complex geometric patterns at random with it, and they made crop circle patterns look like random squiggly lines by comparison.

Gene is right, they are obviously made by people. They are usually done by a board and rope and the person makes successive steps and can create numerous patterns. Their meaning is to make interesting designs and fool people into thinking something grand happened. I saw a UFO once (actually two at once) but am completely skeptical that they have anything to do with crop circles

Hoaxes take on lives of their own. Even after the originators of the modern crop circle hoax revealed themselves and how they created the circles, some people insist on finding deeper meaning that just doesn't exist.

Why are they "too big" and "too perfect" to be made by humans? Do you believe that the Pyramids of Egypt, or the Great Wall of China were made by aliens? Humans are smart.

I have seen footage and it is people doing it. It is rather a simple process involving rudimentary tools like ropes and planks of wood. These people are more like artists rather than engineers.

They're caused by humans and the meaning is that they're fun to make and people are gullible enough to believe that are some exotic fabrication.
