Hello.
That I am aware, science is yet to be able to measure it, if it can be measured that is. Since many believe and seems most likely that dreams don't apply to time, how then could it be measured in time? I would say that all time really is one time so it's like zero point time (no time except that instant), where everything happens all at once so it seems like noting moves, like an illusion.

From what I've heard, A dream only lasts for a few seconds, but your center of reality changes as you enter the dream enducing periods of sleep. When you enter these stages (often labled REM sleep) your neurochemical patterns are lost and there is no concept of time. Therefore, a dream which may seem to last for a great deal of time is really only a few seconds. CHeck out the movie "Waking Life" if you ever get a chance. THey have an interesting section on the moment of death and how the brain could hold out a dream for what might seem to be a lifetime.

if you are talking about when u sleep the dreams have different time frames.... u usually need 3-4 REM periods a night which are rapid eye movement periods. this is where u dream and psychologist say this happens about every 90 minutes. the 1st dream is usually like 4-5 minutes, the second is 9-10 minutes, the 3rd is about 20 and your finally dream is about 40 minutes. usually the dream u remember is the last one because it's the longest and the last one you have. I'm no expert but I'm taking a psychology class and this is what he told us
