Yes, that's me...I have 6 kids, between the ages of 6 and 16. I got remarried about 2 years later. That's really a personal decision. Don't worry about what is socially acceptable, it's your life and if you feel like this is the one for you, go for it. My kids love my husband, he is the best dad to them, and we are all SO much happier than we ever were before. We lived in misery with their dad. Good luck to you!

I remarried the day I got a divorce from the first husband but only because it took years to get the final paperwork finalized and already had a wedding planned for the second marriage. Well that ended as well. Its been 3 years and I to this day..DO NOT want to get married again.

It all depends on the person

I don't think there's any magic number of months or years. I remarried after 12 years. During this time, I went back to school, had another serious relationship but did not marry, and really nurtured my children. They were young--2.3.7, and we shared custody. My friendship with my ex worked well for us, and we spent many holidays together. Plus, when he had the kids, I did a lot of fun things that I couldn't do when they were with me. Every case is different, and I am very grateful that my children had a very supportive dad.

Finally, I met Mr. Right, and after 3 months of dating, married that man!

I actually got married just one month after it was final, but my divorce took a LONG time to complete. I would say about a year and a half, but I had known this man for quite a while even before that. I would say, do it when you are ready, you now know what to look for and what the warning signs are, so if you meet someone, go for it. There is no set time. My husband is wonderful and my gift from God.

i waited almost 10 years to remarry. It took me that long to find the right man. My first marriage was a nightmare and was gun shy about doing it again. It now has almost been a year and we are very happy.

It depends on each individual person and what they have been through.

My current SILwas divorced (with 2 kids) married my brother 25 years ago.
How long did she wait? Until a GOOD man who loved and respected her and her children came along.

Be careful who you allow around your children. There are some real perverts out there but also some good men like my brother.

Tehcnically I was not married. I was in a relationship with my ex for 4 years. We had two daughters together. I ended up walking out on him. It took me 4 years to even DATE again. I was crushed too much to care. Anyways, I now am with a WONDERFUL man who loves my kids and me. We are getting married in July. I hope you find what you are looking for honey, because we all deserve happiness.
