I'm presuming you're talking about the WWII German war effort. Albert Speer was a genius in maintaining and increasing armaments production through the use of slave labor and underground facilities. What doomed the German economic effort was the loss of the potential oil fields in the Caucasus after the loss at Stalingrad. After that, there was no doubt in the ultimate end of the war..

If you're referring to Nazi Germany during WWII.
Nazi Germany was criticized by international economists as being a Keyensian economic deficit spender, that is Hitler spent more money than he took in, compelling Hitler to expand to acquire more resources which Hitler rationalized as 'Lebensraum' living room or living space.
Through out the war the Nazis basically spent what they acquired through their occupation of other nations.

If you mean WW II, it was dicey. SInce they erected a wall between East and West Germany. The Germany to the East suffered economically. But after Gorbachov(sp)pulled it down things got and are getting better.

After awhile, about the time the B17s started bombing every day, the economy changed and there was a much bigger demand for helmets and steel umbrellas and shovels to dig more bunkers.
