what exactly is a mosh pit?

its a bunch of crazy people at a concert. they stand in the area in front of the stage. they f'n go balistic. i got to go crowd surfing in a mosh pit when i went to OZZFEST2006. It was f'n awsome. Then people start pushing and punching. I lost my shirt. hahaha. usually alot of stuff starts flying through the air. hahahaha fun times. I'll be goin back to OZZFEST2007 for FREE!!!!

The pit is where the orchestra would be in a opera or some plays.
Moshing is the dance where you slam up against the people next to you.

It's not stupid. If you've never seen one, how would you know? Basically it's an area at a concert (usually a punk or metal or hard rock concert) where people mosh (it's sort of a violent style of dancing where they slam and push each other.) Never done it myself, but I've seen it! There is a more complete definition at the link below. Hope this helps! :)

The area in front of the stage at a concert where people slamdance, jump, crowdsurf, run around being mental and just basically go wild. Usually the heavier/faster the music of the band/artist playing, the rougher and more painful they are. Gotta be careful, especially when a circle pit gets going.

Usually at a rock concert someone pushes someone then that person pushes and people all start pushing and then people yell MOSH PIT! and people get in a circle and push people in the circle when they get near the dge push em in again. Real fun in mud

Its something I generally stay away from! :)
Its a huge circle that usually starts off with a couple of guys running in a circle slamming into each other then more and more people jump in and throw their elbows up and go nuts. I have seen people break noses, arms and legs in these things. Its not for the timid you will get injured.

A bunch of people start jumping around running into each other, someone usually gets hurt. Ive been in a few and came away with some massive bruises. Lost a shoe once, it came off and someone picked it up and it went flying - I saw it fly around a couple of times and I never recovered it.

Usually it starts out as a tightly packed crowd in front of a stage. When the music picks up kids will start flipping out and pushing people...people form a circle from being pushed back and then you can jump in when you want and push, shove, punch whatever just because youre so fired up from the music.

It when a group of people at a concert get so involved with the music that they start going crazy and slamming into each other. it's a lot of fun, but be careful is you're planning on doing it. last time i did i got a broken nose!
