usually i don't like to mix my horror with comedy (American Werewolf in London still doesn't sit well with me). but Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein is one of my favorite films.

getting Lugosi and Chaney to play along was pure genius! my only regret is that Karloff didn't play The Monster because that would have been a triple threat appearance of all my childhood favorites (though Strange did an excellent job, he just wasn't the Franky i remembered as a child).

everyone in the film was great! everytime i see it, i wish it could have gone on longer!

(am i the only one who feels that Chaney deserved an Oscar nod for at least one of his portrayals as a werewolf? that guy played that [human] part with such sincerity and regret--i almost hated for him to have to turn into the wolfman just so i could get my jollies!!)

My favorite is, like many others here, "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" (known in the UK, I believe, as "Abbott and Costello Meet the Ghosts").

I saw this one on tv when I was only seven or eight years old and fell in love with it.
As well as meeting Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolf Man and the Invisible Man in this film, Bud and Lou also starred in "Abbott and Costello Meet Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", "Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man", and "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy".and met other scarey folks!

They were fun' verbal humor, Costello's physical skills and Abbott's expert second-banana wisecracks. And there was always a pretty girl and villains.

My personal favorite is "South of Pago Pago".
