Yes. Each aspect of American culture is borrowed from another culture, melded over generations and then it is what it is. For instance, sweet tea is a big thing in the South, it's something we're proud of, and it's pretty uniquely American. Where'd we get our taste for tea? The English, 400 years ago. Also, bluegrass music is another good example. It lends the fiddle from Ireland, the mandolin from Italy, the guitar from Spain, and who knows where the heck the banjo came from.

mmmm... fun question.
The US claims to be the great melting pot.. but really it's a great whitewash of sorts. We have pissy fits about people speaking Spanish in schools, we have pissy fits if you don't want your child to be subjected to saying "one nation under God" if that's not their religion, we get pissy if you where clothing that don't meet American "norms" (traditional clothing like berka's, africa garb, etc..), we get pissy when people want to celebrate certain holiday's or don't want to celebrate others.
You get the point? lol
A true melting pot would mean that there would be elements of other cultures equally distributed in... but our melting pot sorta well - whitewashes. So I guess I'm going with the stew response since trying to define melting pot is putting my brain into overdrive!
FYI - canada is considered to be like a stain glass painting - all the pretty unique pieces, shapes & colors making up a beautiful picture. Each maintains there individual characterisitcs proudly... I think that sounds better than a melting pot lol

Yes, so many people have come to America that it has become a melting pot. What does an American look like? You can't answer that because we all look so different.

Yes. One day we will all be brown. I am not saying that to be racist I'm saying that seriously. We have a little of everything and frankly it's not just America it is everywhere. People are all mixing and in a few hundered years I don't think there will even be that many 'white people' left.

Physically yes, but mentally many people do not realize or accept this. Many people still think that our country should be comprised only of people from European nations and fail to see the hypocrisy in that idea of America.

Nah, it's more like a stew. People still find ways to be divisive, so there are whole communities made up of ethnic groups. Ideally we should be trying to blend.

We used to be until illegal immigrants or not didn't want to be AMERICANS just to stay the way they were from wherever they came from. Immigrants used to take PRIDE in becoming an American & EVERYTHING that meant - now it's different & we have a lot of problems because of it.
