To avoid the people that spread hatred and division. My reason is because it become a disease eating away at the core of otherwise good people. Take politics, stating your view without hatred is fine but from my experience the nut cases will come out and attack you, so I avoid it as much as possible. Hating people in the media is a waste of energy, they are rich and powerful and they will do as they please. I am not saying that we should love everybody, instead we should learn to coexist with the people we live next to, no matter what their faith, sexuality or ethnic background is. Freedom isn't about ranting words of hatred.

Personally, I find it very important to use my better judgment when stating my opinions. I am not a hateful person. Far from it, actually. However, I find that I can normally pick up on the people who will see whatever I say as being the exact opposite of what I mean. Those are the people I have no time for. With good judgment, one can normally weed out those people relatively quick and focus more on the people who care what one thinks. When I find those people, I don’t ever want to let them go.

I agree with it seeming like a disease. It seems those that feel hate want others to be as miserable as they are. I also find this to be true with people who just need misery/drama in order to feel alive. In either case, again, I have no time for them.

All in all, I think with proper adherence to early warning signs and good judgment, I can steer clear of the people who will only bring me down. I try to circle myself with people who have substance, a sense of humor, and compassion. Those are the people I want to be associated with. Anything else, I’m just really not interested.

Also, a side note, I think this is the longest answer I’ve ever given. lol

Well said & I agree. In the end, when a person engages in negativity and hatred, they will truly wind up causing themselves the most damage.

Agreed. The people who hate only win when they get you to hate them back.

Most of the time, they're not worth the energy.
