far too seriously ? I have seen alot of hatred on here the last couple of days, you all know what i mean .. Its not as if the winner gets a fantabulous prize , its a fun site , nothing more !

Sprout - me too but today poor Emma has had alot of stick calling her a cheat , bullcrap as we know , so the person who got her suspended obviously has a fascination with the points etc , that is what i mean .

Yes some people do take it far to seriously
I come on this site because i enjoy answering the questions and i love reading the funny answers
Yes its nice to have points but its silly to get obsessed about it

LOL!!! You're quite right! I think the points and levels system just makes the competitive folks even more competitive!
I think it's just the brag value, somewhat similar to membership of Mensa.
there was this website back in 2000, called www.whquestion.com, which seems to be the forerunner of yahoo answers, and it had no points system, only ratings. Good answers got ratings. a very good site, just like YA.
anyway, that was in the past. this is now.
I just have this to say about these people... let them.

It has been really bad on Emma today she was doing so good and someone got here suspended, we know she no cheat ,just some one jealous .x

i am noticing some people getting riled over it. I assume some people on here are a little young, maybe in their teens.
I DO get annoyed if i get an unfair violation but i am not bothered about people giving points to their friends etc.

Yes,as you say it is only a bit of fun. However, you do get a few people who seem to think they are the Oracle and they write vast essays and almost novels at times. I just can't be bothered to read a load of guff, so to me they have wasted their time. And some of them do seem to have a heck of a lot of time to waste.

Yes i think that some do..take it far to seriously..it is fun but you can see some of the point chasers by there answers that just aim to fault a Q. ..i just find it funny..

yeah people do take them too seriously, i never have and never will. i answer question because i want to and if that person thinks it a good answer fine by me.
I always ask a question when i need something answered not everytime i am on!
