A thin line between a Fetish and a compulsive behavior.

Fetish: On object of arousal.
Many people having a shoe fetish find themselves liking the shoe being warn. 50% of shoe fetishes are high heels, 20% are boots, 10% are flip flops (note most people with this fetish also have a foot and/or toe fetish) and the last 20% are Various styles and color combinations.

Compulsive Behavior: An over whelming desire to consume/have.
A person that buys objects of desire just because, is quite common. Many times compulsive buying turns into a collection. As long as the compulsive buying does not cause financial problems no medical treatment is necessary.

I feel that by what your question reads that you do not have a shoe fetish as much as you have a Compulsion to buy shoes.

Don't tell people you have shoe fetish. Psychologically speaking any object that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation would be a fetish. You are a shoe addict or junkie.

I think you are like anyone else who likes shoes, only some of us junkies buy more than others. And someday when it comes time to move and you realize you have 327 pair of shoes, most of which have never been worn, you will learn to cut back.

In the meantime...enjoy!

I guess shoe buying would become a fetish when you start to include your shoes in your sexual activity. There are many comments about men and women crossing into sexual activity on the shoefetish bootfetish site.

I love shoes too ...I guess it's normal as long as it's not interfering with your life. Are you not paying bills to buys shoes? Are you spending less time with friends/family to go shoe shopping? Are you stealing? If not then I'm sure you are fine. Shopping can be a REAL addiction that needs therapy/rehab to stop. As long as you are not obsessing and hurting yourself or others in anyway then I wouldn't be too concerned...
