We already give too many free handouts n this country. If some people cannot take advantage of the capitalist economy and learn to better themselves, too bad for them. They are just trying to drag everyone else down with them.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. But, I will try to answer.
It would be a very sad day when Americans put profits ahead of people. I'm sure that all people would agree to that.
You're question, however, mentions entitlement programs. Programs for the poor should be designed to provide a hand up not a handout. Also, they should be designed in such a fashion that the poor don't even know they are receiving aid.
Imagine trying to help wild animals survive without taming them in the process. You supply whatever food source for the wild animals to hunt down and capture on their own.
The poor need to be helped in the same way.

Well that was rude. Yes there are people out there who are useing the system for the wrong reasons. But for everyone of them there are hundreds who would be dead without this assitance. And how are they going to be dragging everyone else down? It really seems like you need to open your eyes and not be so close minded about the world surrounding you.

I do not think this is putting profits ahead of people. What you discuss is taking profits and income from those who earn it.

I completely agree with eliminating the freebies.

Yeah, let's destroy the middle class in the United States, ship all our jobs overseas, go back to the days of child labor, Robbers Barons, 14 hour work days, continue to let people and companies get away with hiring illegal immigrants, and why not slavery?

Wow, 'social darwinism' isn't as dead as we thought.

I'd say we should the freedom and rights of the individual ahead of the desires of collectives - be that corporate proffits or socialist transfer payments.

Ah yes, another poor nobody extolling the same screw-the-working-man dogma that has created this financial divide.

If you whined about corporations and money ruling America half as hard as you do about honest people getting an honest break, maybe this country wouldnt be such a mess for real working class people.

Yes, a "liberal" just shut you up. Facist.

Sure put profits in front of people.. if you want to show yourself as complete economic parasites with as much social conscience as the welfare cheats do.
