There are no guarantees, but, in the unlikely event that Congress doesn't end the war through some subterfuge or another before the next election, there will certainly be a lot of rhetoric in that direction. An actual, sitting Democrat President, though, will not be able to simply withdraw from Iraq without some political fallout - and no politician likes fallout that lands on her (or him).

Absolutely not, why do you think that every deadline is set before the election. The democrats know that this will have to continue, Congress is willing to pull out, but the next president will not want to touch it any more than Bush does. If we leave now the body count would rise from 50 a day to 1000 a day.

No. Prior to the elections in 06, they all promised a bunch of stuff during their first 100. Alas, nothing but bickering, bashing and Bush-ecutions. I am convinced that they are a bunch of cowardly hote mongering appeasing retards. And if my choise is between Republicans who understand the world we live in, and cowardly democrats, then I'll vote republican. The dems aren't going to change anything. Why? because they are making tons of money off of this wartime economy, but they won't admit it. At least the republicans aren't hiding anything.

No. Several democratic candidates have quietly stated that the troops will stay.
What is almost a surety if a democrat gets into the White House will be another terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
Keep the democrats as far away from the White House as humanely possible!

no, the US military will be a presence in the middle east for the next several generations. Obama's plan is a gradual withdrawel while maintaining intelligence and diplomatic operations in Iraq.
