What are all the proposed theories of how a zombie outbreak will occur?

and in what movie/game/book is it from?

yes i have read the zombie survival guide and have seen many movies but i want to identify every different form of how the zombie infection is outbroken in society

In the remake of the Dawn of the Dead, at the beginning of the movie a guy is on television talking, he makes the comment about when hell is full, the dead shall walk the earth, from there the infection is transferred via bite or scratch.

Most of the movies and books I've read think it will be some sort of biological weapon or drug (28 Days Later, Resident Evil, The Mad), created by us or entering our atmosphere from space (Night, Dawn, and Day of the Dead) - although, in the "Dead" trilogy, they never did give us a specific cause, did they? The "28DL" virus was originally supposed to be a 'antidote' to the overwhelming rage some people have, and when they realized what they had, they decided to experiment with it - look how well THAT worked out for ye, mates..! ;) ...

Ah Tiffany, if only your paid more attention. 28 Days Later was not about a zombie outbreak but infact a outbreak of Infection. A Virus described at the beginning of the film as Rage. The Virus does not kill the infected but rather drives them into a homicidal rampage where all the person can think of is killing the non infected and infact avoids eating and drinking inorder to fullfill this rage..eventually starving to death if they aren't killed to begin with. In the lastest film, a survivor of the intial outbreak is found and its found that she is seemingly immune to its effects, but infact carries the virus, ala Typhoid Mary

look around, we are among the living dead, look at TV, every ones wearing the same designers, singing or rapping about the same stuff, and they blindly follow leaders, and believe the media with out being subjective. so I guess capitalism is the cause of real life zombies of today

Let's see there's resident evil where it's actually a virus which I always though was pretty cool. That's transmitted by bite I believe. I think the virus it'self was air borne at first.
