Did you have kids or a house before getting married?

Dated for 1.5 years before getting engaged.
Engaged about 3 years.
Bought house about 3 months before wedding, but only I lived there until after returning from honeymoon (she was living with parents).
Had a son 4 years after getting married.

My husband and I have together a total of 9 years. Married for 6 1/2. We were engaged at 1 year and 10 months, and married after a total of 2 1/2 years. We did not have a house, but did have an apartment together before we got married, we actually moved in together after 4 months of knowing each other. No kids, but we did get a dog. Now we have 3 dogs, and my stepdaughter lives with us.

7 years before we got married, lived together 5 out of the 7 and have a daughter who is 7 and own a house, we have been together 11 years and married for 4, we are very happy.

We were together from 5/1997 to 8/2000. We bought a house during our engagement and are still married. We lived together from 1998 on. No kids although he has a child from a previous relationship

Ive been with my b/f for 5 years and we have been living together for a year and no marriage or kids, just a dog. lol. I would perfer to wait til after marriage for kids but a house should be bought as soon as you can since it is a good investment. However you need to be sure the relationship is steady before getting a house. If you have to sell it within 2 years you will lose money. I think these steps depend on the people involved however remember you have all your life to be with one person. There is no rush.

Were together 2 years. Lived together for nearly a year before the ceremony in an apartment. No kids or house till after wedding. A house and kids are bigger legal obligations than a wedding (without a house or kids).

We dated for 3 years and didn't live together (no kids either). Got married, bought a house, and have 2 puppies:)

We were together two months before we bought a house together. After living together for another two months --- we got married. Then had a baby 8 months later.
We've been married for almost 13 years.

We were together 3 years. No, we didn't live together before marriage (that only benefits the men, not the women). We purchased a house a year after we were married and had our first child a year after that.

We moved in together after dating for 3 months, got engaged a year later, and married 4 months after that. My husband had a house when I met him, this is where we live now. We didn't (and don't) have kids. We're in our 30s, been married for a few months now.
