You're spot on.I live in a flat owned by a housing association and when I was working I couldn't get them out to fix anything. Now I'm on benefits until I can work again and they've been out a few times. I dread to think what will happen when I go back to work, no wonder people love living on benefits and don't want to work. The only thing you can do is constantly pester them. I did that a few times and eventually they came out but be prepared for a long wait.

Hi, Yes i agree, it does seem a very unfair system. The scheme was originally for people who really need additional help but there are those who will take advantage, it's a disgrace. The real problem with your new neighbours though is that if they were educated into having safe sex then they wouldn't be there and the house could have gone to a family who deserve it more. The kids parents are to blame here i think. (just my opinion, no complaints please) When honest hard working people get nothing and see others getting everything for free, it causes anger and irritation to all those who actually;y work and do things for ourselves. It sucks. You should get in there before they move in and just take the kitchen doors and anything else that isn't nailed down. It won't matter, they'll just get more new stuff for free asap!!!!!!

No it is not fair but that is just how the world is. I am 22 and I have been on my own since I was 17 and I tried to buy a house when I was 20, I applied for some first time home buyer loans and grants but there was not any thing for a single woman with no kids. It's like they help you when you screw up but when you try to do the right things they don't want anything to do with you. It's almost like the government encourages you to be a teen mom or not work! sucks don't it

If this is a rental that needs repairs, the best you can do is document the repairs necessary, take pictures if possible and submit it all to your landlord in writing. Also, look up the renter's rights for your state to see the best way to register a complaint. There might be a town council you can go to, or at least the Better Business Bureau. Keep dilligent records as to when you request repairs (date and time, etc.) as well as keeping copies of all correspondences. You may need them.

This is the UK for you! Tax payers like you don't get any breaks - sometimes, you really are better off popping your feet up and letting the rest of the world do the hard work and pay the taxes while you take. That's why so many people are at it!

the decoration is your problem. they are not obliged to do it. if the doors are broken and you didn't break them then they are obliged to fix them. you can't expect them to decorate your house. get down homebase or b&q and they've got a sale on.

When your lease expires, move into a nicer house that has the features you want.

I don't think it's fair to expect anyone to do anything for you. It's called being self-sufficient and responsible.
