the vehicle is an extremely practical vehicle and if you're buying it for what it is then you'll find it very reliable and efficient. The vehicle is made to move people with things. Its particularly suited to moving dirty things, like mountain bikes, construction supplies, camping gear etc. in short, its an active vehicle that has a rubber floor and the interior can be cleaned with a garden hose. I know a lot of trades people in the construction industry who are carpenters, painters and masons that have them and love them as do campers, people who ski and mountain bikers.

The do have a lot of open interior space and therefore they are not the quietest vehicle to drive. You'll hear more road noise in an Element than you will in a Pilot or other SUV that has the insulation and carpeting to deaden the noise.

the functionality can't be beat and the vehicle does come in 4-wheel drive. There were tire wear issues and squeek and rattle issues on the early Elements that were corrected on 2005-2006 models, so the later the model the better in terms of solving some minor initial bugs.

its up to you--if you want practical, economical and functional, the Element is a great vehicle; if you want comfort and ride quality, its not up to the standards of a Pilot or any other SUV
