As usual, they will find a scapegoat and make excuses that are unreal. The fact is that their pitching corps is decimated, and they just do not have the pitching they need, even though they probably have the best, most potent, and feared lineup in the majors. This from a Red Sox fan.

Chow!!

That depends. If A-rod chokes in the end then they will still point fingers at him, because he makes so much money. They did it last year even though he had a great year for any normal player (except for the playoffs). He will be criticized no matter what he does in New York. He needs to play for a team where the fans appreciate his hard work and support him even when he plays bad.

Everybody will be proud of Arod, and be upset that the Yankees lost, because the Yankees deserve to be in the playoffs.

wow, good question. most yankee fans are jerks, but i think the majority would have to tip their caps to a-rod. they would realize that a-rod was a better player than gehrig and mantle [if he breaks the record of course]

if they miss the playoffs, the yankee fans will be furious, but the heat will go to the entire team, not just a-rod

They will love him and then he'll ditch the team and go to one that is gonna give him a better shot at the World Series. That would be great payback to all those wishy-washy Yankee fans.

They will do the usual and talk about the 26 championships they have won in the past 90 years or so, or maybe talk about the six in the past thirty years...Take your pick. Either way it's sooo pathetic.

It's not about personal accomplishments. Of course the crowd would go nuts, but we're all about the playoffs.

He still won't "earn his pinstripes" if they miss the playoffs, but they will understand that he can only do so much, and they know that their starting pitching situation is the problem, not A-Rod.
