There are many name that any cricket pundit will love to include in the "great" category. Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulker, Ricky Ponting, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Yousuf, Jack Kallis, Santh Jayasuriy, are the few names still filling colors in the cricket field and people love to watch them play.

As far as records are concerned, Sachin Tendulkar has been considered as the greatest batsman in International Cricket. However, since he is out of form, he cannot be considered as a greatest batsman at present. Presently Ricky Ponting of Australia is the great batsman as he is most consistent compared to all other batsmen.

Brian Charles Lara..any way you look at it, he is the only guy for the last 15 years who batted like one man against the world and won some matches..ponting is very good in the recent past and may become great. Tendulkar's test career is not "great", it is good, may be very good, but not great.
