Recently I noticed that I'm not into looks as I used to be. I've never really judged a book by its cover, but recently, whenever I see a beautiful celeb, I immediately put that beauty in perspective. "Imagine the huge amount of make up she has on -- or how much of her as been Photoshopped."

Is my testosterone level decreasing? :-)

it does because you have a lot more on your mind than when you are young - when you're my age (14) you only care about how you look, which is an increase from a few years ago, 10 year olds really couldn't care less. But as you get older u find u have more 2 think about and so u dont boother with the simple things, like beauty.

wow that was a complex answer ;)

Beauty comes from the inside. I think as you get older and have a family you still want to look your best but realize that some things are more important.

You're just becoming wise. I don't think wisdom has any connection with sex hormone levels. But, then again, there is the factor of AGE.

It was always believed that age dictates that the level of wisdom rises with increasing age, while testerone levels go down against it.

However, I think that's changing now. I know lots of old people who try to act young and foolish just for the heck of it, and young people who acting much mature for their age.

i don't think beauty becomes less important with age i just think you realize what is more important as you get older. your hormones aren't running as wild and you aren't nearly as shallow. when you are younger you just want to hook up and have fun so you will lust after attractive girls. when you get older you are looking for someone to be in a relationship and realize it's more about the total package than just a pretty face.

Beauty should not become less important with age
people of any age can look beautiful if they take good care of themselves.

not really!!! my grandmother, who is 82, still takes care of her appearance...she has her hair done, nails, makeup...the works!!! i don`t think people should stop caring what they look like when they get older...when u know u look your best, u just feel better!!! i know a lot of women who are married & they think just because they`re not looking any more for a partner, they can let themselves go...they gain weight, wear frumpy clothes...i for one pay even more attention to my appearance than i ever did, & also to the appearance of any guys i might go out with...i become increasingly more picky the older i get!!!

no, hun, i think thats normal. same with me, whenever i see a celeb with so much makeup on and so beautiful. I try out the makeup they wear and the hairstyles, and hair products they wear. You have to try new things out.

You are just realizing what is really important isn't always the package....it's what's inside. You are become more mature in your decisions, and that's a good thing!! Your testosterone level is okay......you're just becoming more aware of what really matters!!! Welcome to life!!!

I would say so, yes. Usually, elders aren't respected because they are beautiful or rich. It's just because they are older than you and you just have to be polite.
