both are overhyped, both will bust. Im also sick of trying to watch NFL live draft discussion and seeing nothing about Russel and Quinn. For 90% of the football world Russell and Quinn dont matter.

QBs coming out of college as ALWAYS overhyped. Could Russell or Quinn develope into good NFL QBs? Maybe in the right system and/or with the right QB coach, but neither one is a sure thing by any means. Drafting a QB as your #1 pick is risky in my mind. You get a few sure things like an Elway or Marino but you see far more QB busts as #1 picks. Look at how many good QB currently playing were 4th or 5th round picks. Like I said, drafting a QB at #1 is a crap shoot. For me the obvious #1 pick should be WR Calvin Johnson, he WILL be a star in the NFL almost without question.

YES, YES, YES!! I'm so tired of hearing about Russell and Quinn. Jamarcus Russell is overhyped and overrated. They talked about Daunte Culpepper the same way and look at him now. They're both just big, fat QB's that have strong arms. Russell will blow his knee out in a couple years and be useless, just like Culpepper. Now Brady Quinn on the other hand is also overhyped, but underrated. He's the prototypical QB. Perfect size at 6'4", 239 lbs. and had an outstanding showing on bench press at ND's pro day. He also has a strong arm, but can scramble and complete the short passes. I would put Quinn in the same boat as Leinart and Vince Young. Cutler still has some growing to do.

I never followed Russell's career at LSU, but from what I have seen, I am far from impressed.
As for Quinn, he is overhyped dramatically. I don't remember seeing him win a big game when it came down to it. Most of his stats have come from much weaker opponents and he has yet to show that he can go toe to toe against a strong defense.
I can't see how these guys get so much press, yet other QBs like Troy Smith and Chris Leak are completely overlooked.

One thing is for sure most of you dont know what your talking about. Russel has a strong arm than anyone in the NFL. Quinn is being compared to Brady by the people who coached both of them. He is known as student of the game like Payton Manning has broken all of ND QB records which is saying something. They both will be good if not great QBs in the NFL in a few years

I'd say they are worth what someone is willing to give for them. Think how many #1 draft choices have made it big in the NFL? Not many. Tom Brady was a sixth rounder and look at what he's done. Eli Manning? Looks like an average QB with a lot of hype. I'd look for the leser known guys who are willing to work their tails off and don't have "character issues."

I feel that Quinn is overhyped, but I do believe that Russell is the real deal and will be a good NFL QB!

to the guy above me, smith and leak are overlooked because they're short and have weak arms and would have major difficulty even seeing over the line of scrimmage in the nfl
quinn and russell look like they will be great nfl players, but no one can really be sure, because anyone can bust out at any time due to any number of various reasons...they both have the talent and ability to win big in the nfl, but we'll have to wait and see

Quinn is an overrated piece of crap. JaMarcus Russell can be a GOOD version of Daunte Culpepper (Culpepper was never great, but Randy Moss was. Culpepper - Moss = Akili Smith)
