I've lived and worked in the country for 10yrs, and the thing that worked best for me was sunflower Kernels. You'll have to get the old fashioned snap traps (they work best anyway) and wedge a Kernel in the small hole of the bait set; make sure it is wedged in tight (you may have to try it a couple of times) leave the kernel sticking up a little bit. This works best, because unlike peanut butter, the mice cannot simply lick it off, they have to pull it out. And when they pull...... BAM! you've get them. DO NOT USE POISON!! The Poison says that the mice will go looking for water and leave the space, but that is not always true. The mice tended to die in the walls, which left my house smelling horribly for a week or so. The best solution is to use the trap and dispose of it quickly. Use Steel wool around any openings that you think they might be getting through.

First find out where they are getting in. Look for spaces where pipes penetrate walls, floor and ceilings. Under the kithen sink is a good place to start. Escutchion plates (ask at hardware store) that fit around the pipes are effective. The space under exterior doors-a small mouse can squeeze through a quarter inch gap! Buy a door sweep (hardware store) to close the gap. Then to remove the mice already inside -bait mousetraps with peanut butter and set them next to the walls. If your sqeamish just put trap and deceased mouse into a small bag and dispose in the trash.Peace

This may soud weird but go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's. They both carry a type of trap that is electronic and runs off 4 AA batteries. I had 2 mice in my garage and the very day I set the electronic trap out it had trapped both of them.

A cat is the only answer. Contact the landlord or matinence and tell them about your problem. It's their job to get rid of the little bastards. If they don't tell them your getting a cat.

THIS IS THE WAY FOR CERTAIN! FIRST PLUG ANY POSSIBLE WAY OR HOLE SO THEY CANNOT ENTER. SECOND-PUT OUT A COUPLE OF GLUE TRAPS. NEXT TO THE WALLS WHERE THEY WERE SEEN TRAVELING.
CHEAP WAY AND FOR SURE CURE.
DON'T USE POISON!!!!!
