He should have given you a written warning if it was your first offense, in my opinion. Then if you ever did it again, you should have gotten the ticket.

Well, by your own admission..YOU DIDN'T STOP!! Stopping requires NOT MOVING and you "rolled" thru the stop sign. You might well have had plenty of time to see if there was oncoming traffic/if the road was clear..whatever. But you didn't stop fully, so you got a ticket.
I agree that many times it's goofy to cite someone for this, but police do that to remind you that it's for your own good that you come to a complete stop at each stop sign. There's too much at stake here for you not to comply.
No, it's not too much...try speeding in a school zone...that's a much heftier fine.
Be careful out there. And stop at the stop signs.

You're actually lucky. Running a stop sign--brings the most points on your license--the only higher points are if you pass a stopped school bus. He was being kind to you. Be grateful. My friend had a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign, and she got 280 fine, and 4 points on her license--her insurance went up and all in--it was expensive for her.
She'd trade places with you in a heartbeat!

i will dismiss each thing you printed after the first sentence. something you typed after that replaced into both an excuse (it truly is in basic terms an request for forgiveness) or a plea for sympathy. no matter if you've self assurance it or no longer, there is advice in what I in basic terms stated. examine to ascertain in case your state has any diversion classes such as a shielding driving direction or cost ticket deferral that ought to keep the citation off of your record. If it truly is your first cost ticket ever, you need to be eligible for even with software your state would provide.

Absolutely not. You should have to PAY a fine, rather than receive it. I mean, by running a stop sign you could kill someone- like a small child darting out into traffic. Why on Earth would you get rewarded?

Depends. If you learn from this and start obeying the driving laws, then it was just about right.
If you don't, then it is too small an amount.
You either stopped, or you didn't. If you didn't come to a complete stop, you didn't stop. You may have slowed down, but a stop is a stop is a stop.

I don't think it's fair for child molesters to get 2 or 5 years in jail and those that get caught with weed or an accompliance to possesion get 15 years. Child molesters should rot in jail and be tortured. The judicial system is backwards.

If it works to make you stop at stop signs, then it was fair. If it doesn't, then the fine was too low.
