its funny that you've asked this question. my husband just had the same problem. this was a first for him. he's never had a bladder infection before. this is exactly what it sounds like your brother has. tell him to try drinking some cranberry juice and water for a couple of days. it only took one day for it to go away on my husband. good luck and let me know if it helps.
