God people! The planet was found yes, but it was about .04 AU from the sun it orbits, which is a red dwarf, and completes its orbit in 5.4 days.
Our planet mercury is 58 million kilometers from our sun and orbits in 88 days.
The planet that everyone is hyping about suffers from high temperatures at or exceeding 420 kelvins. More than 300° Fahrenheit.
Is that livable?

Probably 200 years. It is 20 light years away. Pluto is only 1/2000 light year away. And it is a POSSIBLY livable planet. All we know for sure is that it is close enough to its star to be warm enough for life, but not so close as to be too hot for life. That is ALL. We don't even know if it has an atmosphere, or water or anything. But it IS the first planet that has the right temperature, which alone makes it a great discovery.

At least year 10000. That means no person alive today will exist at that time. even with the speed of light it will take more than 20 years of travel to reach that place. Even if there would be a device that allows you to travel at that speed, can you imagine a human being traveling at the speed of light for 20 years? The toll on the human body would be very extreme to take. For something like that to happen there must be a very advanced technology that when compared to our technology today is like comparing the technology thousands of years ago to our technology now.

No one said it's liveable. This is where all the scientific misnomers come from. All we know is that it's gravity is about twice the earth's and that the temperature on it is similar. It may not even have an atmosphere or it might be covered in sulphuric acid.
If we travelled at the speed of the shuttle, 800,000 years.

I would say within the next 100 years. Reason being 100 years ago we were just mastering flight, now we are able to travel in space and look at distance worlds, I believe in the next 100 years there is no telling where we will be in terms of human advancement of technology
