We haven't had a running game in 20 years, why whould we not continue to contribute to our O-line, or back's? or something that may help it our rather a QB, that can not make an impact immediatly.

I think they could pick somebody up in free agency. But as you have said no running game in 20 years so that's why there probably going to take Adrian Peterson. Frye only got 1 year playng time and was rushed in as the starter. I think they will take a QB out of free agency so if frye has another bad year there will be someone to fil in. They got some guy's back including Kevin Winslow. And also Peterson will probably be a hall of famer.

The Browns have drafted a running back in seven of the last eight drafts. Why would drafting another back to play behind the oft-injured Browns line make a difference this time?

The Browns have Jamal Lewis, Jerome Harrison, Jared Wright and (I think they still have) William Green at RB. After bolstering their O-line through free agency last year and this, the O-line should be improved so long as they stay healthy.

While the Browns could certainly use another RB, OT, CB and WR, they have a chance to draft a franchise QB this year. Charlie Frye has done decently behind a poorly performing O-line, but there is room for an upgrade there. And do any Browns fans really believe that Ken Dorsey, Derek Anderson or Lang Campbell are "the answer" at QB, or could even give Frye a run for his money?

To be successful, NFL teams need two good QBs. Frye could be one of them. Who will the other be? If the Browns don't trade down, they really should take a QB.

When you're picking number three overall, you have to consider more than just the most talented player, because there's still a lot of talent that high in the first round. The only running back graded at number three is Adrian Peterson, and do you really want to risk 25-30 million dollars on a position that you can fill with a quality player in any of the first four rounds, on a player that wasn't able to finish a college season?

As far as the offensive line goes, the Browns did a remarkable job of filling that gap with Eric Steinbach. And you don't want to spend high first-round money on another lineman so soon, partially because you wouldn't want to upset your blue-chip free agent by paying a rookie more than you just paid him.

Brady Quinn is actually the most logical selection for the Browns at Number 3. He's similar to Matt Leinart in that he's had a few years of experience in a pro-style offense, and has succeeded in it, but is being ripped because people need to find flaws in prospects. However, he's also had three years to get used to a subpar offensive line, so he knows how to scramble and get rid of the ball. A local franchise quarterback will keep people excited even if the Browns don't do well this year.

Marketing. Plain and simple. The Browns play in arguably the toughest division in the NFL. There are 3 championship caliber teams in the AFC North. So the Browns will be in the basement for the forseeable future.

How do you raise hope (and interest) among the fans? You draft a promising QB. Everyone expects the Browns to lose with a young QB, but fans will believe the losing will lead to winning one day. At least for the first two years of the QB's career.

If you draft a RB, OL, or any other position... They expect instant results = wins. But we know one player in the AFC North is not going to make the Browns from bottom feeders to division champs. So you go with the "project", keep hope alive among the fans for two more losing seasons, and hopefully the team can surround the QB with a talented and healthy team by the third year. i stress health for the Browns... They must have one of the worst track records for healthy players in the NFL.

If you draft RB Peterson, he'll have no blockers to create holes. If you draft OL Thomas, the rest of the OL stinks. You draft WR Johnson, who's going to throw the ball to him and how much time will the OL block for? You draft Russell or Quinn, fans are tolerant... They's say: He's learning on the job, His OL stinks but when he gets protection, the Browns will be contenders, etc...

The Browns added Jermal Lewis in may so taking a RB third overall is not prudent, Joe Thomas the best player on the o-line will be gone by the time Cleveland in on the clock. So unless the Browns want to trade up one spot or down to seventh and hope to get Adrian Peterson. The Browns are best is grabbing Brady Quinn.

They are in a hard spot. Brady Quin has a P Manning potienal he is a class act and a hard worker. The owners are backing him. The front office wants to take Peterson because he will be more of a instant help and since Savage and Romeo are in danger of losing there job that is the route they want to go. In reality i wouldnt pass on Quinn he is a hometown hero for Clevland and will be the face of the Browns which they have not had. Which will bring people to the games.

The Browns signed Jamal Lewis, so they don't have a sudden need for a RB. Charlie Frye is overrated and played poorly last year. They have not had a decent QB in years. Brady Quinn would fit great with their offense and he is underrated and will be the biggest surprise in this years draft.

No I can't they shouldn't draft a QB. They need blocking, Frey would be a good QB if someone would block for him and they had a treat of a running game. They should trade back, get more picks and pick up Levi Brown.

Romeo system (New England) is better suited for QB's. you (clevland) havn't had a running game since jim brown, but your franchise has had more recent luck with QB's (kosar).
