like the first person said, i think Emo is more of a fad than anything.. I am the mom of an Emo and a Goth.. makes for interesting conversations and stares out in the narrow minded judgemental society that we live in.

I think teens have always been EMO! Someone just slapped a new label on it... so what. Some are way more brooding than others, it's dumb but the ones who wear the label seem to revel in it. To each his own. Like every other label in history, they'll grow out of it and someday they will be embarassed when their parents show pics to their kids "Hey, little Johhny. Come see what your dad used to look like when he was your age!" Hmmm remember the greasers, the preps, the squares, the yuppies, etc.? Who wants to admit they dressed like Don Johnson or Madonna? Raise your hand!

They think they are being so different when really they look like any other emo/goth kids. You can't tell them apart they all look so alike.
Why not just be YOU? By dressing up like an emo,you're conforming just as much as dressin like a prep or whatever.
The black lipstick is truly disgusting, make ya look like you were punched in the face.

I think there overrated. People shouldn't even use labels because there stupid & you should just be yourself!
I'm a teenager & I'm my own person not a prep, goth, emo, etc.
I may dress like a goth one day & the next i'll dress like a prep.
