They use acetone to remove nail polish in salons, but when you go to buy stuff for home use, most of the time it says "acetone-free"... is that because acetone is bad? It works great for getting off nail polish! Especially thick sparkle layered ones.

acetone is fine for natural nails. if you have fake nails of any kind, it can remove the glue and damage the nail job.

no acetone is not bad...its just that the concentration that you need in a salon is 100% pure so you have to have a license to purchase it...although there are some removers that do have acetone in them but its not the grade you would use to remove nail enhancements....hope this clears it up for you

the fumes are bad for you and usually its better to go with acetone-free nail polish remover because acetone is real harsh on ur skin and will make it ashy and dry. i believe acetone-free remover work just as well as acetone

Don't drink the stuff. Even if you mix it with Vodka, it's still bad.
