I assume log_4 means log to the base 4

x = 25

(x -9 ) = 4^2

x = 25

"log" is taken as log base 4 in the following:-
log(x - 9) = 2
x - 9 = 4Â²
x - 9 = 16
x = 25

If you mean log (base 4) (x-9) = 2,
log(base 4) (x-9) = 2
x-9 = 4^2
x-9 = 16
x = 25
