This is quite unsettling to us, because most of humanity is totally enamored of their eog and filled with a great deal of self importance, but our perception is not the condition for the possibility of whether or not things exists. The universe preceded our existence, and it will likely remain long after all of us have passed into oblivion. The universe gives every indication of having no need for us and exists in radical indifference to our life and presence.

Yes, things still exist. As in a still life, waiting for the next new era to begin. Some combination of the elements will bring about a new creation, and life will reemerge, thank goodness. Don't worry, it won't be painful. Learn to meditate.

I think what you are really asking is "Is Existence a human construct?"
Humans create the words and ideas. If humanity dies, existence goes with it. The universe may still continue but the concept of existence as humans understand it does not.
