He sounds Bipolar to me. Even if shes a brat, he came across so immature. He just went off on her and I know the feeling. BUT, it was pretty sad.*

I'm sorry but you don't know the situation. What if his daughter was being an inconsiderate little pig. You also don't know what the Mother is coaching this child to say. Alec Baldwin has been fighting for his parental rights since the day that he and Kim Bassinger divorced. She has put that man and that little girl through hell with all of her allegations, leaks to the press and down right uncalled for behaviour. Im quite sure it was another situation where Ms. Bassinger was keeping the daughter from her Father once again. This seems to happen a lot in the State of New York and the Father has no recourse. Im sure he just finally lost it. What parent hasn't lost it at one time or another and said things that we wish we hadn't said to our children. Please don't judge him when you don't know all of the facts. I suggest that you read his book when it comes out in September. I know I will be the first in line to buy it. You ask why. Because my Husband also has an ex-wife in New York and has gone through exactly what Mr. Baldwin is going through. And yes he has lost his temper with the kids when they were being ungrateful and rude. If more parents lost their temper with their children we wouldn't have so many punks running around. Remember when you were growing up?? Things sure are different now a days.

You know something, he might have been a bit crass with his kid but there isn't a parent out there who has not lost it with their kid, if they say never, they are lying. Be that as it may, he has been through hell with his ex wife. He has filed over 14 contempt of court charges against her for sabotaging phone call times, days there were to spend together etc. So he probably just got to the end of his rope. This does not excuse some of the harsh things he said but the person who leaked this is full of crap. To hell with who Ireland would feel that her business is out in the street for her to get teased about it at school.
the strange thing though behind this is this- Wed. Kim lost a contempt of court battle to alec, the following day-oops out came the tape. Disgusting.

I'm not defending his words, but I know that parents do this all the time, using their children to get back at each other. I'm sure Kim has completely bad mouthed him to her daughter. What he said was wrong, but there is so much more to this story. Kim has not been cooperative in letting Alec see his child and she really doesn't have a choice in the matter. If the court says he can see his child, he can see his child. I'm sure he is incredibly frustrated and let it out on his child. Again, this is wrong, but I can somewhat understand what is really going on here.

Before we all go stringing this man up on the nearest nasty boy tree, let's let the courts hear the case. We don't know what this guy has been putting up with and I haven't heard BOTH sides and cannot make ANY judgment pro or con. I do know that in custody battles things get UGLY and the parties involved try to get the other to snap and go berserk so they can go into court and say."see how he/she is" when many times they aren't really like that. He might be, but the point is WE don't know.

Old news hun- now Rosie O'Donell is the talk of the town. And yes, what Alec said was not very nice, but if I had to go thru what he did in the last 6 years in order to see his daughter b/c his ex wife is making it so damn difficult I would have probably lost it too.

I am glad to see that a celebrity of his stature is actually involved in personally raising his child. He didn't beat her! He is just trying to make her a respectful little person, and he became frustrated. Besides, do you really believe that Ireland is not a rude person at times? She leads a very high profile life, and has been living through a vengeful divorce. This would be very stressful on her. I wish them both the best.

What he said and the way he said it was horrible. In all fairness we do know what has been said or done to cause such an outburst. He was very cruel and rude on the phone but I also heard love...He wanted to straigthen his daughter out. He never said that he would hit her in anyway. Personally, I think that the outburst was mild compared to what he has said about the child's mother. Again, we do not know what caused the emotional breakdown. He was wrong and they need to deal with it accordingly.

I was saddened by what I heard Mr. Baldwin say on that tape. I agree that he should not have said what he said ... howEVER, as Dr. Phil has said, no matter how thin (or thick) you make it, a pancake always has two sides.

We have no idea what happened to make him so angry. I know my own children have, in years past, made me very angry. A lot of what happened to make me angry was during the aftermath of my divorce from their father and his marriage to that unbearable twit ... oh, sorry, I was waxing poetic there for a moment.

It does sound as though Mr. Baldwin could use some counseling for anger management and he needs to keep in mind that his daughter is entering those years when typically children rebel as part of their journey to independence.

He probably was being a jerk, but the other half of the story was never reported. (Does anyone know what the kid said/did to make him say that?) I don't belong in the middle of their parent-child relations--Alec, his daughter and Kim can work that out themselves. This crap shouldn't be printed, much less considered news.

it dont matter what the mother did. or what the kid might have said etc. she is 11or 12. it dont matter about the age. she is still a young girl. all he did was take her self image and mess with it. he didnt care. he only said he was sorry becouse he needs work in the future. do you honestly think he would have said i'm sorry if this didnt get into the news. and yes, most of us has been told far worst things but the anger behind that voice was horrible. thank God she didnt answer the phone or was in his presence at the time.
