So this was the book he was reading to children on 9/11?

My Pet Goat was the book he was reading, and continued to read, to a young class when the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred. He claims that he continued reading the book because he did not want to alarm the children, a reasonable explanation.
However, some Bush-bashers point this out as saying Bush is only smart enough to read this book. Which is stupid, but he DOES have a confused look on his face:

Democrats like John Kerry used the 7 minutes Bush continued reading 'My Pet Goat' to the children to claim he froze when notified of the attack on the WTC. In actuality, he continued reading to the children so as not to scare them. Also it was better to sit for a few minutes and plan how to react to an attack on the United States (1st attack since the British burned down the white house in the War of 1812) rather than jumping up and running around with no plan in mind. Secondly, he could not leave until the Secret Service told him that it was ok to leave and to clear a path to Air Force One.

He was in a school in Florida when the 9/11 attacks took place. He was with a group of kids in a reading class and he was taking part by reading that book to the kids.

The amazing thing is the way the Dems use it as some sort of attack. I suppose they wanted George to jump into a phone booth, change into his superhero uniform and fly off to save the day instead of finishing what he was doing and leaving in a calm and professional manner.
