just wait until ortiz falters a little and they bring in tim lincecum!
this wont be a bad thing...trust me! he has filthy stuff - some compare him to felix hernandez! and to answer your question, i do think they have a great rotation - possibly the best!

That isn't even the best in the NL West let alone all of baseball. The Padres are better with Peavy, Young, Maddux, Wells and Hensley. Cain as the number two is probably the only spot of the 5 where the Giants are superior. I would also take Boston (especially when Lester comes back) Detroit, Milwaukee, and Oakland ahead of them. Its a solid rotation for sure, but not even close to the best in baseball.

Yes there are four that immediately come to mind and surprisingly 3 of them are in the American league and the other is in the Giants divison. The staffs of the White Sox, Red Sox, Tigers and Dodgers all are stronger 1-5 than the Giants who are strong 1-3 but Morris and especially Ortiz are nothing to be too proud of.

San Diego better???? YEA RIGHT!! The combined ERA of SD starters is 4.85 to the Giants 2.87. Batters are hitting .284 off the Padres and they are hitting .219 off the Giants. Someone show me Stats to prove that the Giants Starting rotation isn't the best in the league!!

those numbers are great, but the truth is that there are a number of rotations that are truly better than the giants'...we don't know how long all of their guys will keep up this success, but we do know that the tigers' rotation, for example, has carried them to a world series, even though they haven't been spectacular thus far this year

I don't think you can make an argument for the Giants rotation.

I do however think you can for the Red Sox. Schilling, Dice-K, Beckett, Wakefield, and Lester.

Three of those pitchers are aces on other teams.

well...sorry that would be the a's , dodgers, and mets. Up until a couple days ago the a's were either first or second.

That's playing with not the full headliners. haren, harden (been iffy), blanton, kennedy (OK lefty), gaudin. (sub for loaiza).
