So the dems will quit with the witch hunt and waste of our time. Resigning would be 'taking one for the team'--and why should he when THERE WAS NO CRIME HERE! His memory lapses? It's contagious in DC.........- Number of times Hillary Clinton said "I don't recall" or its equivalent in a statement to a House investigating committee: 50
- Number of paragraphs in this statement: 42
- Number of times Bill Clinton said "I don't recall" or its equivalent in the released portions of the his testimony on Paula Jones: 271
see happens to everyone

Because they are sick of backing every piece of spin coming from the White House would be my guess. They understand the problem - interfering with the Justice Department for political reasons is verboten. Unlike some of the erstwhile Bushies who keep yelling about Clinton firing 93 attorneys - they understand the difference between a practice followed by almost all Presidents, and a mid-term firing of certain U.S. attorneys because they refused to politicize their jobs to fit the Administration's wishes. Not the same thing, not even in the same ballpark. I'm glad to see not all Republicans take stock in the belief that Americans are too stupid to understand the obvious difference (some are lol...but not most of us). Gonzales differing stories and his deliberately faulty memory have been his undoing. He's a disgrace and should step down immediately.

Gonzales holds the highest Law Enforcement Office in the United States of America!
If he can lie to We The People than that taints Law Enforcement through out our country!
The Attorney General is in charge of enforcing the rules of law and if he himself believes he is above the law and can perjure himself then we have no honest law enforcement, and the laws mean nothing!
He should have stepped down instead of lying to We The People!

1 - Cuz they're pols, cuz; their job is to get re-elected, not to do ANYTHING else, and, if they have even the very, very slightest hint that getting re-elected might be in jeopardy, well, then, they're gonna do whut they're gonna do, aren't they?
2 - See #1 above.
You might give some consideration to thinking a little deeper on this one. For example, Gonzalez's principal problem is that he wrote some of the important briefs for Bush regarding enemy combatants and the war on terror; this is why the Dems are after him in the first place. The firings of the US Attorneys is a very, very poor smokescreen for the effort to get at Bush any way they can. For Gonzalez, it's mostly a PR problem - even if there are RINOs who can't remember which page they're on!
