I think deep down inside they know that if taxes were raised the money still wouldn't go to our troops. Just like now we dump billions of dollars into this war yet our troops can't get the equipment and the help that they need. Plus the deficeit would continue to grow since Bush has no idea what fiscal responsibility is or how it works, just look at the four oil companies he bankrupt. If they really supported the troops they would do everything in their power to make sure they got the equipment they need to survive and operate in Iraq, which they haven't figured out how to do yet.
Plus the Repugs know if we raise taxes it will come out of their pockets, and they would rather our troops continue to be used and abused before they give up just a little of their ill-gotten riches.

Tax revenues keep going up. Tax increases negatively impact the economy and tax revenues decrease. Which would you rather have? More money coming in or less money coming in?
You don't have to wait for the tax man. If you wish to contribute more money, the federal government will gladly accept it. Are you going to do it? I didn't think so.
Liberals want to increase taxes for one reason. It is not to collect more money, because it has already been proven many, many times that tax cuts actually increase tax revenue. The reason is because they follow a socialist model and think all money belongs to the government and you are only allowed to hold on to what the government decides you need.
It is all about who has the power. The government or the people. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
May I once again remind you, the vast majority of people serving in Iraq are republican.

when the economy is growing, you collect more revenue.
taxes stifle growth
we are fighting a war and taxes have been cut.
the stock market is at it's highest .
tax revenue is the highest ever.
in past 2 years the deficit has been cut in half.

What I would really ike to see is both parties being a little (lot) more fiscally responsible. There is no need to raise taxes. there is a HUGE need to quit wasting taxpayer money on projects that are not the responsibility of the federal government.

because that's the answer to everything with the left. raise taxes. there are other alternatives to raising money for the war. i.e. war bonds. the strongest message of support for our troops is believing in what we are doing there and stop trying to put timetables on an already difficult mission for them. they believe in it (aside for a MINORITY), why shouldn't we???

No.... a sacrifice is something that is done voluntarily, not madated by the government.
Raising taxes does not equate to support of troops. Appropriating the funds we already have does.
Are all liberals this ignorant?

Because image is different than reality. Just like creating an education reform act then refusing to fund it. The image is one of reform and making education a priority. The reality is one of ignorance and a expanding poverty cycle.

Only a Dumcrat would believe that killing the economy is good via raising taxes.
If you want to help the troops, get off your lazy tail here on YA and do some work.
Why was Clinton taxing the crap out of the economy when there was no war?
Duhhhhhhhhhhhh
Maybe Dems could quit wasting so much money was a way to help the troops. Sacrifice, Dems!

Because those taxes will be used to aid illegal immigrants, welfare bums, and other society detriments not to troop funding. I wish there was some way I could control where my taxes went.
