Why is "Take Out" food suddenly being called "Take Away"?

Why is "Take Out" food suddenly being called "Take Away"?

I see this over & over again in other questions. When did "take out" become "take away?" I've never heard it referred to this way until I've read these postings of late.

Is it coming from different countries (I'm in the USA)? Or is it regional or state specific? Just curious.

Not everyone is from the U.S. In other countries they call it "take away" instead of "take out". I know in England they do.

This site is for english-speakers everywhere. A lot of users are British, and "take-away" is the common term there.
