Silly idea banning something concerning a strong basic instinct such as the sex drive leads to all sorts of illegal and undercover activities with criminal involvement leading to all sorts of harm and the criminalisation of ordinary people for no good reason. You would think that these days governments would have learnt from prohibition in America which lead to the rise in the mafia endorsed by a large part of the population and corruption of a lot of the police. The effects we are still seeing today.

I am in the US. What happened? I hope this does not happen across the board over there! That would be a bad decision.
Look at how sexually repressed much of our society is over here! Sure, we have our adult movie shops etc...but for the most part we are off the deep end when it comes to sex. It is just sad!

As far as I know there is no ban, there are a number of 'Adult Shops' here in Dublin. But I do remember a big 'protest' when they wanted to open an 'Ann Summers' store on O'Connell st. Its been there for years now, and doing great business.

There isn't a blanket ban on sex shops, just 1 particular shop in 1 particular area.

They're not... it was just one shop that was open near a school. Take a walk down capel st.!
