You're not crazy. Why do I have to be so sensitive to Muslims? I don't have to be sensitive to Catholics, Baptists, Protestants, or Mormons. People are WAY too sensitive.

This is not a true news story - just a group attempting to make a point of how over the top we've gone in this country with "Political Correctness" and "Hate Crimes" and such.
Personally, I believe everyone has rights to their own beliefs but when you are different, you are going to deal with ridicule, it's just how life (and especially kids) are. I think (if something like this was to happen) they should have a meeting with the kids and the parents and possibly some detentions but I think labeling a "Hate Crime" and legal action is absurd. Unfortunately, when 8 year olds who hug thier teachers goodbye can be suspended for sexual assault, this type of thing is completely possible.
The best part is, taking legal action in a case like this doesn't teach these kids tolerance - it causes bitterness and TRUE hatred of Muslims because their religious rights are held higher then the other childrens rights to be normal, stupid pranking kids.

This is right up there with Peanut butter sandwiches and Peanut allergic kids. It's just gone over the top. I and millions of others, grew up on peanut butter sandwiches. NOW because a minority of kids have reactions to peanut butter, you can no longer bring it to some schools. I know of one incident, where the mother wasn't aware of the policy and packed her son a lunch. HE had to sit at a table all by himself and eat. How horrible life has become. This is America, if these people have a fear of Ham, perhaps they should live in a commune away from normal people. Anyone who thinks God is going to strike them down because he sat next to or touched, a certain meat, is crazy to begin with.

Ok, the kid is in middle school. Hate crime??? Come on now! Isn't this going a little too far? I'd like to hear his side of the story. How many students in middle school know and understand the beliefs of everyone else in their school!? Maybe while in school, students should be educated on just such matters.
"No child, Muslim or normal, should have to endure touching a ham sandwich." Personally, I love a good ham sandwich with mayo, lettuce and cheese. But on the other hand, I'd never touch liver....I just don't like the looks of it.

Beware of the monster known as political correctness, we will all be victims of it soon. Cant do anything that may offend someone or it is a hate crime and you are a racist, ask Imus. This is absurd, everyone gets picked on and singled out in school for one reason or another, get over it. You want to know what America is becoming, it is becoming a lie. We have no freedom anymore, next step, this way no one can be offended ever, BAN EVERYTHING!

I think the school system doesn't want to deal with our kids anymore. Ever since this " No tolerance" thing, it has gone out of control. I worked for a DAYCARE a few years ago and a teacher suspended a 4 yr. old for throwing his pencil. We have gone too far!!

I dislike how it was called a hate crime. Its just bullying. All the four eyes and fatso's get no justice like this. Why should the muslim? I'm not condoning his actions, it was a mean thing to do, but come on.
