Ouch. Why are you carrying a PS3 over a lake anyway?

The PS3 might be a lot hardier than you give it credit for. The best thing to do is just to air it dry until you're absolutely positively sure that the inside of the PS3 is completely dry. Put a fan near the air vents and let the fan blow the inside cry. Then plug in and see if it will work. The inside of the PS3 should be made of metal and plastic, and those things should dry completely.

dropped it in a lake!!! Don't phone Sony up cause they would just laugh at you!! How did you do that! I don't think you can do anything unless the PS3 is waterproof which i am 95% sure it isn't.

You can try and get it from the lake, put it in a very warm place for a month. and then send it to Sony. It might be dry by then and you could say the games won't play. Because i don't think they would fix it if you said you dropped it in a lake!

PS: don't open it, it will void the warranty

DO NOT PLUG IT IN. I REPEAT, DO NOT PLUG IT IN! with any luck you might be able to save this poor, poor ps3. grab your screwdrivers, cause this is about to get ugly. tear it apart. this may sound crazy, but it might work. take out as many screws as you can get to. if you can COMPLETELY dry it out on the inside, it just might have some life left in it. i mean completely. let it sit out under a fan for a few days. then go to radio shack and buy some anti-corrosion spray. spray this on any parts that may become crusty or dirty. after a few days reassemble it and give it a shot. i spilled water on a super nintendo when i was a kid and i did this. after a few days under the fan my snes was a good as new. let's hope you haven't tried to plug it in yet. good luck, and don't ever take anything that valuable near a lake ever again. why did you have it near the lake anyway? lol. no power outlets or hdtv's out there.

First of all, how the f@@$#k do you drop a PlayStation 3 in a lake?!!! Second of all, you could have saved 660$ or 550$ just if you waited a few weeks .
Now you should try opening up the system , take of faceplate and everything, and dry it COMPLETELY. OK? COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT leave it out in the sun.

You could call the Sony customer service to see if they can repair it, but it may be unrepairable and you might just have to buy a new one. I know you've got to be mad, I have my PS3, and if I dropped it I wouldn't be too happy either.

First of all, you got screwed. I found my ps3 in a store with no problems. Secondly, I would suggest contacting sony about getting it fixed.
