The "Secret" thing is interesting but they dwell on materiality and that does not sit right with me. I am not saying that we should not be comfortable in this world but the "Secret" seems to primarily focus on having stuff than having inner peace.

As a teacher of The Secret for many years, as well as being a profession psychic, I now recommend The Secret DVD to everyone. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/does-the-secret-really-work.html

But you are right about the Secret leaning towards Financial Success Only. Oprah recently asked about this with Esther Hicks (The Secret behind The Secret) on her radio show. Unfortunately the ‘get rich quick mentality’ prevails and that is what sells most. The Law of Attractions works for any focus you concentrate on, so it’s still worth learning. Just drop the money thread if it’s not sitting right with you. http://www.abraham-hicks.com/mp3downloads.php

The Secret focuses on everything and anything you want, including inner peace. The key is to "think about inner peace, focus on what that feels like" and you are on your way. The next thing is be consistent about those thoughts and feelings. Don't do it for a couple day then give up or go back to your old ways.
If you don't have inner peace now, that's because you are wanting inner peace and that means you "do not have" inner peace and the more you think about it that way the more it will continue to repeat itself that way. If you are greatful for what inner peace you do have and believe it will continue to get better that will be your experience.
The Secret does use many material examples because that is where most peoples level of consciousness is. If they used spiritual examples they would only connect with a few of the people capable of understanding at that level and people at that level already understand the Law of Attraction better than most. They do make it very clear however that the Law of Attraction works every time, in everything.

No, it speaks about far more than just material things. It also focuses on health, relationships, joy, emotions. You (and the media) are the ones focusing on the material wealth aspect of it. I suggest you watch it again. And again and again until you truly understand the concept of the law of attraction. It means that we can control our experiences. All of them. In fact, excuse me, I'm going to go pop in my copy and watch it again.

I agree, but the tools do not have to be utilized to acquire stuff. Don't limit yourself because they couldn't fit all possibilities into the limited time of the movie.

Look at it again.
Yes it spends about 75% of its time on material things... but not just that...
