For the past 3 months it seems that as soon as my menstrual cycle is over, i get recurring BV and outbreak of herpes sores in my vagina?? I am currently, once again, taking the gel for the BV and daily pills for outbreaks. But I just started taking these about 2 days ago when the symptoms started happening.

Could I be getting recurrent BV from my BF? How would he go about getting tested for this or something else that may be causing me to get this. I haven't had sex in over a week. I dont wear thongs, tight underwear and since Feb. Ive calmed down ALOT on using tampons.

Could natural hormones in my body after my menstrual cycle be causing me to have the outbreaks of sores?

It's possible that you could have some kind of hormone imbalance going on to cause this. As for getting the infection from your boyfriend infections such as yeast can be passed from one partner to another which means that sometimes it's a good idea for both partners to be treated to stop that cycle of passage.

I would recommend following up with your dr again to find out if hormones are playing in to this somehow.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

Yes, it is possiable.

Herpes outbreaks may be triggered by prolonged exposure to the sun (especially true for oral HSV), stress, the menstrual cycle, vigorous intercourse, and possibly changes in the diet. http://www.positivesingles.com/blog/hgirlemily
