I have a way to discourage overnight guests, just have a really uncomfortable place (couch, sofabed with the bar across the middle) for them to sleep.
I do have one friend who will come over and just sit around. Eventually I just have to tell him, its time for me to go to bed and he needs to leave.

Yes; have found that the guest limit in a house if 5 days and it it goes beyond that, it will strain any "friendship". If a guest wants to stay longer than 5 days, recommend your local Super 8 or Howard Johnsons.

oh, yeah. I had a married couple come stay with my wife and I for a weekend. The first thing they did was take my good towel and change their baby with it. Then they ate peanut butter out of the jar. Then they changed their baby on the table in the restaurant. Then they had sex in the downstairs bedroom - the one with wheels on the bed and hardwood floors. They broke the drywall.

Yes! This one 'guest' who I won't go into detail about, took food and drinks out of the refrigerator without our permission and was really cruel to my little brother.

Yes absolute nightmare. They asked to stay for a 'short time', thought it meant a day or two. I kept asking 'how long EXACTLY are you planning to stay' and never got a straight answer. Stayed two weeks!!!!!

Nope. If someone is staying and I'm tired of them I let them
know its time to pack up and go.
